I lost Vik (accidentally of course) somewhere near one of the ponds where Australasian Grebes had him mesmerised.

Meanwhile I was having a quiet rest in a small clearing surrounded by dense vegetation when this Brush Cuckoo appeared and parked itself near me for a short time.

I suspected that it was possibly having a rest from Vik, and I half-expected we'd be joined at any moment by a couple of Australasian Grebes, but Vik found us instead and that was the last I saw of the Brush Cuckoo.

"Oh, there you are Vik. I was looking for you..."
